We provide help and connection when it’s needed most, strengthening families to help prevent vulnerability from becoming a point of crisis.

The stakes are high when it comes to children.

The effects of poverty can increase the risk of mental health struggles, educational and employment challenges, housing instability, incarceration and trafficking.

These outcomes can weaken the foundation of our communities, leading strained resources and greater social costs for everyone.

In Wisconsin…

  • 1 in 3 children live in homes that struggle to meet basic needs.

  • On any given night, nearly 6,000 children are in foster care.

  • Wisconsin ranks just 31st nationally in social support and engagement, leaving many families without meaningful connections that can make all the difference in times of need.

  • With soaring case loads, many city and county support agencies are overburdened and stretched to their limits. They can’t do it all alone.

How it all works

  • Social workers, child-serving nonprofits, schools, and other frontline agencies identify needs and submit requests.

  • Each request has been verified by the agency worker, assuring Community Network partners that they are meeting essential needs and having a real impact.

  • With Community Networks made up of multiple church partners, local businesses, and individuals, communities are ready to help when it matters most.‍ ‍
